Repeated rename requests
[edit]Your request has been declined by several filemovers. You can post at the administrators noticeboard and see if they want to do it. If you keep just trying to find a filemover who will do it, you'll be reported for edit warring. Geoffroi 22:29, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
- The arena's actual official name is in French (which is clearly labelled on the building), like almost every non-governmental organisation in francophone Quebec. Quebec is not an English-speaking province, French is the sole official language of the province, and every street sign, address, signage in public transport and government institution are labelled in French only. - Yes, but the French word order is reversed in English. File renaming guidelines prohibit renames just to switch languages. They have an English version of their site, which I've linked on the files, so why is a file with that English version a problem? Geoffroi 22:50, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
- Because its original official name is in French. Why does the original French name of an institution from a place which is not English-speaking have to be translated into English? Kurcke (talk) 22:58, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
- I've posted about this at Commons:Administrators' noticeboard#File:Videotron Centre 6.jpg so we can get guidance on this from administrators. Geoffroi 23:08, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
